It’s natural to teach your kids not to speed or text when they’re driving, but the question is: what do you do?
Teenage rebellion or not, your kids still learn vicariously. That is, via observing your example. So if you’re worried about their safety – as all parents are – it’s best to ensure your own driving is above reproach.
Do these ring a bell?
- Road Rage? You’ve had a tough week
- Speeding? You’re running late for an important meeting
- On the phone? It’ll only be a second… And it’s a work call
There are reasons or perhaps excuses for everything. But actions speak louder than words. What you do, your kids observe and follow in their own time.
Don’t let your actions turn around and bite you. Be a better example for your kids.
